Two Seasons for Year-Round Competition
OPY Swim Club teams give swimmers a place to improve their strokes, build endurance, and compete in exciting swim meets! All our coaches for OPY Swim Club teams complete coach safety training.
OPY Swim Club competes in two different seasons. The summer season begins with a pre-season period during the month of May, then the regular season begins the first of June and continues through the first weekend of August. The winter season begins in mid-September and goes through mid-March. During both seasons, the team competes at sanctioned meets, giving your child the opportunity to compete against other swimmers both locally and throughout the region.
Qualified swimmers ideally will have completed swim lessons and/or be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. Coaches are available for one-on-one evaluations to determine if a child is ready for swim team.
2026 Summer Swim Season
OPY Swim Club is part of the Tri-State Area Swimming Conference and is built as an opportunity for athletes to get their feet wet in the world of competitive swimming.
OPY Swim Club is open to swimmers of all levels. Ideally, swimmers should be able to swim 25 yards unassisted.
All coaches are properly certified. Additionally, they have all gone through child safety training and background checks.
PRE-SEASON: $40/member; $60/community member
- Dates: April 27 – May 22
- Practices: Run on Mondays and Wednesdays
- Swim Group Time Bronze: 5:30-6:00 pm
Silver: 6:00-7:00 pm Gold: 6:00-7:30 pm
FULL SUMMER SWIM PACKAGE: $220/member; $300/community member
(Includes participation in the Nevada home meet. No additional meet fees throughout the season.)
- This all-inclusive option covers all meet fees, allowing your swimmer to participate in every meet if they choose, including Championships.
- Also includes one team cap, swimmer t-shirt, and support for our local home meet.
- Practices: Run Monday through Thursday, beginning the week of May 25
PRACTICE-ONLY OPTION: $150/member; $200/community member
(Includes participation in the Nevada home meet. If you choose to attend additional meets, you will be responsible for those meet fees.)

Coaches can do an initial evaluation to determine the appropriate group for each swimmer.
2026-2027 Winter Swim Season
Our OPY Swim Club is where individuals ages 5-18 can work on strokes, build endurance, and can participate in competitive swim meets. Qualified swimmers ideally will have completed swim lessons and be able to swim 25 yards.
All our coaches are certified with and complete a coach safety training. Meets are sanctioned through Heartland Area Swimming and cost an additional fee. Some meets are local, and some are regional meets outside of the Nevada, MO area. Only Y members are eligible to compete.
