Two Seasons for Year-Round Competition

OPY Swim Club teams give swimmers a place to improve their strokes, build endurance, and compete in exciting swim meets! All our coaches for OPY Swim Club teams complete coach safety training.

OPY Swim Club competes in two different seasons. The summer season begins with a pre-season period during the month of May, then the regular season begins the first of June and continues through the first weekend of August. The winter season begins in mid-September and goes through mid-March. During both seasons, the team competes at sanctioned meets, giving your child the opportunity to compete against other swimmers both locally and throughout the region.

Qualified swimmers ideally will have completed swim lessons and/or be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. Coaches are available for one-on-one evaluations to determine if a child is ready for swim team.



2026-2027 Winter Swim Season

Our OPY Swim Club is where individuals ages 4-18 can work on strokes, build endurance, and participate in competitive swim meets. Qualified swimmers ideally will have completed swim lessons and be able to swim 25 yards.

All our coaches are certified and complete coach safety training. Meets are sanctioned through Heartland Area Swimming and cost an additional fee. Some meets are local, and some are regional meets outside of the Nevada, MO area. Only Y members are eligible to compete.

SEASON: Sept. 28, 2026 – March 15, 2027

REGISTRATION: Starts September 1

FREE PRE-SEASON: Join us for free from Sept. 14 – Sept. 25, 2026

MONTHLY FEES: $60/member; $90/Community member

  • One swim cap and one 2026-2027 OPY Swim Club shirt per swimmer
  • Includes participation in the Nevada home meet this winter
  • Any outside meets will be paid by the participant

SWIM GROUP TIMES

  • Bronze: Mon/Wed 5:30pm – 6:00 pm
    Kids who can swim but do not know strokes
  • Silver: Mon/Wed 6:00pm – 7:30 pm
    Kids who are legal on all four strokes
  • Gold: Mon/Wed 6:00pm – 7:30 pm
    Higher-level swimmers

Coaches can do an initial evaluation to determine the appropriate group for each swimmer.


Summer Swim Season

OPY Swim Club is part of the Tri-State Area Swimming Conference and is built as an opportunity for athletes to get their feet wet in the world of competitive swimming.

OPY Swim Club is open to swimmers of all levels. Ideally, swimmers should be able to swim 25 yards unassisted.

All coaches are properly certified. Additionally, they have all gone through child safety training and background checks.
