Childcare Staff
YMCA Childcare Staff provide supervision of children for all programs under Childcare at the YMCA. Staff will provide a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on engagement, structure, and new learning opportunities. Currently the Childcare Program consists of the following programs: After School (Y-Club) Summer Camp (Camp Osage), Spring Break Camp, Winter Break Camp, No School Days, & Child Watch.
Lifeguard
A YMCA lifeguard monitors pool activities and ensures member safety. Lifeguards need to possess knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures. To help prevent incidents, lifeguards must enforce all safety guidelines as outlined by the YMCA. To ensure safety, lifeguards must remain alert throughout an entire shift.
Welcome Center Representative
A YMCA Welcome Center Representative supports all aspects of a high-quality YMCA user experience. This position handles ensuring exceptional service and assistance to YMCA members, prospective members, and guests at all times. The Welcome Center Representative will exhibit excellent communication, customer service communication, and customer service skills upholding the member experience standards.
Group Exercise Instructor
YMCA Group Exercise Instructors are motivators and relationship-builders in our member-centered environment. They instruct group exercise classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. The group exercise instructor will deliver multiple options and a wonderful experience during each class.
Custodial Worker
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Custodian would assume direct duties of night janitorial duties for an assigned center.
Fitness Center Attendant
YMCA Fitness Center Attendants welcome, connect with, and support members as they ask questions on equipment. This position sanitizes all fitness areas, including studios, and ensures equipment is orderly. Fitness Center Attendant is also responsible for new member orientations.

Current Openings at our Early Learning Center
Lead Teacher
The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. This position oversees daily classroom operations, develops lesson plans aligned with early childhood best practices, maintains compliance with licensing requirements, communicates with families, and provides guidance and support to Assistant Teachers and Paraprofessionals. The Lead Teacher fosters children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while ensuring a positive, nurturing classroom culture that reflects the YMCA’s mission and values.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age and meet Missouri childcare licensing requirements. A Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with young children is required.
Assistant Teacher
The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, caring, and enriching learning environment for children. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom activities, supervising children, helping implement lesson plans, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and promoting positive behavior and social development. The Assistant Teacher works collaboratively with classroom staff to ensure children receive quality care and educational experiences while supporting the YMCA’s commitment to youth development.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age and meet Missouri childcare licensing requirements. High school diploma or GED required; CDA coursework, college coursework in Early Childhood Education, or previous childcare experience preferred.
Paraprofessional
The Paraprofessional provides individualized and classroom support to help children successfully participate in daily activities and learning experiences. Working under the direction of the Lead Teacher, this position assists with supervision, behavior support, personal care needs, and classroom engagement while helping create an inclusive environment where all children can thrive. The Paraprofessional serves as a positive role model and contributes to a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate setting that supports each child’s growth and success.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age and meet Missouri childcare licensing requirements. High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with children, particularly those with diverse learning, behavioral, or developmental needs, is preferred.
Cook
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with CACFP/SFSP guidelines, Missouri childcare licensing regulations, and YMCA policies. This position plans and prepares age-appropriate meals, maintains kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards, manages food inventory and ordering, documents meal service records, and ensures compliance with food safety requirements. The Cook plays an important role in supporting children’s health and development by providing high-quality meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in food service, school nutrition, childcare nutrition, or commercial kitchen operations is preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is required.
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant serves as the first point of contact for families and visitors and provides administrative support for the daily operations of the Early Learning Center. Responsibilities include answering phones, greeting families, maintaining child and staff records, assisting with enrollment and billing processes, tracking attendance, supporting licensing and compliance documentation, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service. The Administrative Assistant helps ensure efficient office operations while fostering positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in business, office administration, or a related field preferred. Previous administrative, customer service, childcare, or office experience is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills are required.
