May is National Water Safety Month. When the weather starts to heat up, the pools, lakes, oceans, rivers and other bodies of water start calling! While swimming can be a very enjoyable activity this summer, it is important to remind all parents and caregivers of the importance of water safety. NFL Flag Football Coming this Spring

The Osage Prairie YMCA has partnered with the Kansas City Chiefs to become an official Kansas City Chiefs Flag Football. This is an exciting announcement which will help us take our program to the next level. Each participant will get an exclusive Kansas City Chiefs reversible jersey, a mouthguard, and their own set of flags. We’re planning on a few other surprises too.

Annual Strawberry Fundraiser for Youth Scholarships is Underway

This Valentine’s Day, give a gift that gives back. Boxes of 12 chocolate-dipped strawberries will be available Wednesday, February 14 for $20 each. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to order a box for youth friends, coworkers and, of course, your sweetheart, knowing that with every bite of berry we’re building a stronger community. Proceeds go towards our Scholarship Fund for youth sports and childcare programming. This ensures that all youth have access to the Y’s facilities and services.

Give It A Tri: Indoor Triathlon

Have you ever wanted to try a triathlon? Now’s your chance with our indoor triathlon on March 2. 2024.

Unlike a traditional triathlon, each event is timed and participants try to go as far as they can in that time frame. For example, participants will swim for 10 minutes and keep track of how many laps they complete in that time. Then they will transition to the gym and ride on one of our stationary bikes for 20 minutes, then transition upstairs to run on a treadmill for 15 minutes.
