Excel After the Bell with the YMCA’s Afterschool Club!
Our Y Club afterschool care program includes a variety of activities to keep your child engaged, healthy, and happy after the school day is done. From free play and physical activity to healthy snacks and homework help, we provide a safe and supportive environment where kids can learn, grow, and have fun with their peers. We also provide a variety of hands-on activities so kids can deepen their understanding of the art, science, math, and physical education.
All Y Club staff are trained, qualified and have cleared a background check, so you can be confident that your child is receiving safe, quality, and supportive care after school each day.
We Also Offer No-School-Days Childcare!
When school is out, the Y is in! Let your child spend the day with us roller skating, swimming, enjoying games, crafts, and more! The Y will provide lunch and a snack. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, tennis shoes (no outside roller skates allowed) and nothing else from home. Sign up in person at the Osage Prairie YMCA.
Y Club Afterschool Care features the national award-winning Walking Classroom program, letting kids move while they learn.
Students take 20-minute walks as a class while listening to a custom-written, kid-friendly podcast. Each podcast includes a brief health literacy message and a character value woven into the narrative. Aligned to state standards, the podcast topics are tailored for students in grades 3-8 and include English language arts, social studies, science, and more.
Healthy Snack (3:00 pm)
Each child is provided with an opportunity to enjoy a healthy snack
Free Play (3:30pm)
Starting when they arrive, children are provided an opportunity to burn off excess energy with at least 30 minutes of physical fitness activity daily.
Homework Help (4:00pm)
Enhances and supports school day learning while providing homework support
Interest Centers (4:30pm)
Children make meaningful and intentional choices with hands-on activities focusing on arts and humanities, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and/or physical education.
Free Play & Pick-Up (5:00pm)
Participants help clean up activities before being picked up

Registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open!
The Y-Club Afterschool Program is for any child ages 5-12. Children receive homework help, along with an afternoon snack, and participate in a fun variety of activities in a safe, nurturing environment.
DATES: School days starting August 21,2024
TIME: Mon-Fri; End of school day to 5:30pm
COST:
$35/Week for Part-Time(1-3 days/week)
$45/Week for Full-Time(4-5days/week)
$25nonrefundableregistration fee
Continuous enrollment, auto draft weekly on Mondays.
FINANCIALASSISTANCE: No child will be turned away due to inability to pay. Financial assistance is available upon request.
LOCATION: TBA (Truman or Weber Elementary)
REQUIREMENTS: Current copy of child’s immunization records, and new 2024-2025 enrollment paperwork is required to attend.
