Weekly Grocery Grabs in 4 Towns!
We are excited to offer Grocery Grab 5.0 grocery pick-up to our community’s kids at this summer! This program provides children age 2-18 access to nutritious meals at no cost to their family. This summer we are proud to offer pick-up in 4 towns throughout are our area, to reach as many families as possible!
Our grocery grabs will kick off in each location once that community’s summer school program concludes. Pick up days are Thursdays and times are 4:30pm-6:30pm for each site:
- Butler: June 26-Aug 14
- Nevada: June 19-Aug 14
- Stockton: June 26-Aug 14
- El Dorado Springs: July 3-Aug 14
REGISTER each child in your family, and we will prepare a week’s worth of groceries for each child you register. Each grocery bag will contain enough food for a child to have breakfast and lunch for 7 days. You only need to register once to get groceries through the end of the program!
Friendly Tips/Reminders for Our Grocery Grabs:
We frequently get a lot of questions about the process and requirements for our Grocery Grabs, so here are some helpful tips and reminders:
- Important Notice: All children must be present during the Grocery Grabs to comply with program regulations. This is a requirement we must adhere to, not just a YMCA policy.
- Time Matters: Please refrain from arriving more than 30 minutes before the grab starts to maintain an orderly queue. Your cooperation is appreciated!
- Pre-Registration Tip: If you’ve pre-registered, have your QR codes ready upon arrival, preferably printed out. Paper is easier to scan than phones with glare.
- Vehicle Preparation: Ensure your vehicles/trunks have ample space for the groceries you’ll receive. Each vehicle will receive a full grocery sack plus a gallon of milk per child present.
- Mandatory Components: All components, including milk, must and will be served.
- Supply and Registration: Supplies are preordered, and registering doesn’t guarantee food. We’ll do our best to estimate orders and serve while supplies last. We’ll adjust future orders if we must turn away participants. Consistent attendance ensures enough weekly supply for everyone.
- Volunteer Opportunity: If you’re interested in giving back to the cause, we need volunteers to ensure our operations run smoothly. Your help would make a significant difference.
To ensure the integrity of the program, please make sure you live close to your selected site. Remember, you can only register for one site.
